The Eldorado SDA Church Women’s Ministries, Health & Temperance Department and Youth hosted a successful enditnow Campaign from Sunday 21 August – Thursday 25 August 2011. There was an average attendance of 76 people each night, comprising of both men and women. The speakers were drawn from our church and community leaders. People like Gail Mosondo, Inspector Basset from SAPS were amongst the guest speakers. Special music was facilitated by Zena Peters, and Laura Rooy. The youth took responsibility for welcoming our attendees each night and setting out refreshments at the first and last programme. The Health and Temperance department used a 10min slot each evening presenting the programme “the best and worst SHOES”.
We had set up a resource table with take home pamphlets, bookmarks, and many other resources for attendees to benefit from.
We have two immediate follow-up programmes viz. (1) Sabbath 17 September 2011, Seminar on Sunstance and Alcohol Abuse by a therapist from Elim Clinic, Edenvale. (2) A lay counsellors training programme on “Recovery” which will be target a group of 9 church members, both male and female. Gail Masondo will be doing the training.
